I recently started learning ActionScript 3.0 for visualization. It’s object-oriented, just like C++ and Java, so I was thinking the learning curve should not be too steep.  However, it took me a weekend and two more days to finish the first “hello world” type project.

A good thing is, Adobe provides free Flex 3 to students and faculties! And the development environment is quite handy to use.
